Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer in-home dog boarding (from single nights to extended stays), daycare, dog walking, and care visits at your home. All services are personalized to your dog’s needs to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

  • Sit + Stay is a home—not a kennel or high-volume facility.

I keep things intentionally small so every dog receives personalized attention in a calm, low-stress setting. Each stay is tailored to your dog’s personality, routine, and comfort level, so they can settle in and feel at home.

I also take the time to carefully match dogs based on temperament and energy, ensuring a safe and positive experience for everyone.

Most importantly, this isn’t just a place for dogs to stay—it’s a space where they’re genuinely cared for, understood, and treated like family.

  • I don’t discriminate based on breed, size, or age. Every dog is considered individually.

That said, I prioritize safety, temperament, and overall fit for a calm, home environment. I carefully screen each dog’s personality, and energy level to ensure they will be comfortable and compatible here.

My goal is always to create a safe, positive experience for every dog in my care.

  • I keep things intentionally small to ensure every dog receives plenty of attention, care, and a calm, low-stress experience.

For first-time clients, I only care for dogs from the same household (up to 3 dogs). This allows your dog (or dogs) to get comfortable in a new environment while I learn their personality, routine, and needs.

For returning clients, I may care for up to 3 guest dogs at a time (4 including my dog, Bailey), as long as I know their personalities are a good match.

  • Yes—but always thoughtfully and with safety as the top priority.

I take the time to carefully screen each dog’s personality, temperament, and energy level to ensure they’re a good fit for a calm, home environment. Dogs are introduced gradually and always supervised, so they can interact in a way that feels comfortable and positive for them.

Not all dogs are the same, and I respect that. Whether your dog loves to play or prefers their own space, I make sure their experience is tailored to what makes them feel most at ease.

  • Yes, I do accept puppies. I understand they’re still learning, so patience and consistency are key. We can discuss their routine ahead of time to make sure it’s a good fit.

  • I accept neutered males. I understand that puppies may not yet be old enough to be neutered, and they are absolutely welcome during that stage.

If you plan to continue care with me as your pup grows, I do ask that they are neutered once they are age-appropriate.

I accept females that are not spayed. If a female is in heat during her stay and requires additional care (such as wearing diapers or extra supervision), an additional fee may apply.

  • I do ask that dogs are up to date on their vaccinations for everyone’s safety, and I like to have your vet’s information on file just in case.

I also understand that puppies may not be fully vaccinated yet. As long as they are in the process of receiving their vaccines, I’m happy to accommodate and will plan their stay accordingly to keep everyone safe.

  • If your dog is allowed on furniture and in beds at your home, they’re more than welcome to do the same at my home. My goal is to keep their routine as familiar and comfortable as possible.

  • I recommend bringing your dog’s:

    • food (portion label if possible)

    • collar and/or harness

    • leash

    • any medications (if needed)

    • kennel (if needed)

    • anything that helps them feel at home—like a favorite toy, blanket, or dog bed (optional)

Keeping familiar items around can help make the transition easier and more comfortable. And, if they get treats at home, and you would like for me to do the same, please bring those as well.

  • Absolutely! I send updates, photos and/or videos, and little check-ins so you can feel confident your dog is happy, safe, and well cared for.

  • Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll share my personal cell number so you can easily reach me during your dog’s stay.

You’re always welcome to text or call for updates or with any questions, and you’ll also have my email as an additional way to connect. I want you to feel completely comfortable and confident while you’re away.

  • Simply reach out through the contact form located on the contact page to check availability and tell me a little about your dog. From there, we’ll schedule a meet and greet and move forward if it feels like a great fit.

  • Payment is collected at the time of booking to reserve your dog’s stay.

  • I currently accept payment through Zelle and Venmo.

  • Because I keep my schedule limited and personalized, the following cancellation policy helps ensure availability for all clients:

    • Cancellations made 48+ hours before midnight of the first scheduled stay day will receive a full refund

    • Cancellations made within 48 hours of midnight of the first scheduled stay day will be subject to a 50% charge

    • Same day cancellations or no-shows (from midnight of the first scheduled stay day through the scheduled drop-off time) will be charged 100% of the booking.

In the unlikely event that I need to cancel your booking for any reason, you will receive a full refund.

  • I do my best to accommodate when possible, but availability is limited. I recommend reaching out in advance, especially for weekends and holidays.
